Chapter 25: The Night Banquet
Wang Taixu's eyes instantly narrowed.
He somewhat couldn't believe that he had already considered the issue for a long time without being able to figure it out, and with just a few lines of dialog between a question and an answer, Ding Ning had actually already figured out the crux of it?
"What is the problem?"
He looked at Ding Ning seriously, humbly asking for advice.
"Since it cannot be a problem outside, it is naturally your own problem." Ding Ning said calmly.
Wang Taixu's breath hitched, and a cold light suddenly shot out from his slightly narrowed eyes.
"Even if I were to beg for forgiveness and beg you for a way out, I would always have to show some weight and worry that you don't want to give a way out." Ding Ning smiled faintly and said, "Now they can't bring more people, the place is all chosen by you guys, and the key lies in the mediator that was invited, which also doesn't carry enough weight. This is the biggest suspicion, Jinlin Tang's Tang Lack, isn't he afraid that you guys just won't give Thunderstorm Hall's Fatty Zhang face?"
Hearing these words from Ding Ning, Wang Taixu's face grew increasingly somber.
However, Ding Ning seemed to not even notice his face as he continued, "And as you said earlier, the backers behind Tang Lack and the rest of them are likely to be figures in the Temple Hall, for those figures in the Temple Hall, although they can't make a great deal of commotion, and don't quite dare to use His Majesty's private property, however, the life of a jianghu practitioner with a cultivation level like Tang Lack's is, in their eyes wasn't much different from a cat or a dog. That's why they won't allow Tang Jiu to fail so easily, and will definitely make him fight for his life again."
Wang Taixu's face grew even colder as he lowered his voice and slowly said, "So your judgment is that there's something wrong with the people around us?"
Ding Ning nodded and looked at him, "I don't know where you are setting up a banquet to negotiate, but I'm afraid that this is the send-off banquet that will not only make you vain, but will take your life."
Wang Taixu took a deep breath and said softly, "But those brothers of mine, they are all from the same hometown, they are all friends who have blocked the sword."
"People change, and for the sake of a momentary situation, perhaps they will do something that they were not originally happy to do. People are in the jungle, they can't help it, you should know the true meaning of this sentence better than I do." Ding Ning slightly mocked, "And everyone has weaknesses, you also have weaknesses."
Wang Taixu's face was ugly as he said, "What do you see as my weakness?"
"You're probably very trustworthy, so it was the same when you just negotiated with me, and you rightfully assumed that I'm the same person as you. Perhaps the atmosphere of your two floors on weekdays is the same, so you naturally think that every brother around you is as trustworthy as you are." Ding Ning looked at him calmly, "For you to be the current master of the two-tiered building, you are of course an extremely intelligent and far-seeing figure, but you can't understand and see such a simple thing simply because you have such a weakness, because you simply don't think in that direction, you simply don't think about that possibility. Before you look at something, you cover one of your eyes, leaving out some of the people you should be looking at as well, so how can you see the whole picture?"
Wang Taixu was silent.
He was not a pedant, or else he would never have personally come to ask for serious advice like a Ding Ning who was still a child in the eyes of the vast majority of people.
He was also beginning to admit in his heart that there was indeed this possibility.
Then this great feast would really not just be a feast to determine the pattern of the rivers and lakes in Changling City, it would not be a question of how the two-story building would survive and go farther next, but rather it would be directly a question of his life and death.
Several drops of cold sweat involuntarily flowed down from his temples.
"It's tonight."
He didn't hide anything, casually wiping the cold sweat with his hand and coughing lightly, he looked at Ding Ning and said, "Tang Lack has made an appointment with Fatty Zhang to negotiate with me at the Red Rhythm Building tonight."
Ding Ning raised his eyebrows slightly and did not speak.
Wang Taixu covered the corner of his mouth with a silk scarf and continued, "If it wasn't for the fact that Lord Li Ling happened to be here today, and if it wasn't for the fact that I personally came to take a look and heard these words from you, then after tonight, I might have already died."
"Life and death in a single shot... Thinking about it at this point, human lives are sometimes really too fragile."
A solemn look appeared on Wang Taixu's face as he looked deeply at Ding Ning, "For today's great feast, I want you to come with me. I will do something for you...and then, if I can survive tonight peacefully, the Two Tiers and I, we will not forget you in the future."
"I can go with you." Ding Ning said without hesitation, "But if you are rich and powerful, please forget each other."
Wang Taixu was stunned.
If the matter of Jinlin Tang could be resolved once and for all today, then at least for a long period of time, the Two Tier House would have a much higher status amongst the jianghu of Changling.
The gratitude and support of such a gang would be a valuable asset for anyone.
Yet right now, Ding Ning seemed to be afraid of getting more involved with them in the future.
He couldn't figure it out, so he couldn't help but ask, "Why?"
"There are times when the things done are different, then it's best not to owe each other too much. I only want what's mine, you only want what's yours, so it's clean." Ding Ning looked at him and said calmly, "With expectations, there is the possibility of mutual disappointment in the future."
Wang Taixu's brows furrowed deeply again.
"It seems that you think of heaven and earth differently than what we see. In that case, I wish you to enter the Minshan Sword Sect as you wish."
He covered his mouth with his silk scarf again and said this very sincerely.
"Let's go. For the big banquet tonight, I need to prepare."
Then, he stood up, signaling Ding Ning to follow him out.
In the backyard, Changsun Shaxue, who had been listening to these conversations, had also been frowning slightly, as she seemed to want to say something to Ding Ning, but in the end, she lowered her head in some annoyance, regardless of the fact that Ding Ning, who had followed Wang Taixu away, had left.
......
The sun was about to set, and the night slowly came, as if there was a heavenly god in the distance, slowly tugging a large black flag, traveling across the canopy.
A black carriage, slowly traveling out from outside the mortuary of the Divine Capital Supervision, the black carriage and the faintly darkened canopy in the distance relative to each other, seems to be welcoming the night.
Along the way, many officials of the Divine Capital Supervisor bowed and stood, their eyes filled with awe and abhorrence.
Driving the black carriage is an old servant with a withered face, like a zombie, and in the carriage, the head of the Supervisory Heavenly Department, Night Ce Leng, who is still wearing a white dress, has his eyes closed and seems to have fallen asleep.
Extraordinary characters have their own extraordinary atmosphere, this black carriage although there is no mark, but along the way is unimpeded, all the way all the carriages are consciously or unconsciously get out of the way.
However, when this carriage is traveling on a very wide road, a very majestic carriage is slowly, face to face approaching the black carriage, and finally stops opposite the black carriage.
The reason why this carriage was described as majestic was firstly because it was very large, a carriage that needed four horses to drag it.
Secondly it wasn't decorated with gold, silver or beautiful jade like the rest of the carriages, instead it was completely decorated with black arcane armor.
Even the four trailer horses were covered in fish scale iron armor.
The four horses were very tall and had majestic legs and bellies, and their pace was almost exactly the same, obviously warhorses that had been trained over a long period of time.
Looking at such a majestic carriage that was like a cast iron body slowly coming, the old servant who drove the black carriage remained expressionless, only that he also slowly stopped the carriage.
The two carriages looked at each other from a distance of one foot.
"It's the Nine Death Silkworm?"
A voice that seemed like gold and iron rubbing together resounded from the iron-cast carriage carriage, strangely non-diffusing, and spreading like a line into the black carriage's compartment.
The Night Ce Leng in a white dress didn't open her eyes until then, and said expressionlessly, "Yes."
"Very well."
The passenger inside the iron-cast carriage seemed to sneer, then continued, "After talking about public matters, next, we'll have to ask Chief Night Secretary to get off the carriage to talk about private matters."
Before the voice fell, the carriage buzzed with a tremor, and even the countless scale armor on the bodies of the four warhorses that stood still were constantly vibrating.
The heavy as iron carriage curtain lifted.
A man with an exceptionally tall figure took a step out of the carriage.
The heavy carriage had a great deal less burden, and for a moment, it even jumped upwards slightly.
This was a very tall, very fat man.
He was about the size of three tall, strong men squeezed together.
Every part of his body, on his arms, on his legs, on his face, in his neck, and on his stomach, was piled high with fat.
It was also true that only such a large carriage could fit a man as fat as him.
It was just unusual for such a fat man to be unable to walk, however, unlike him, every piece of fat on his body gave people the feeling that they all contained terrifying power.
So even if he is full of fat, eyes are squeezed by fat to the point of not being able to see, but he gives people the feeling of being extraordinarily majestic, extraordinarily terrifying, just like a majestic mountain.
Almost everyone in Changling knew him.
He was Xu Bing, a most ordinary junior soldier from the Great Qin Dynasty, the strongest heir to the Hengshan Sword Academy ever, and ultimately a Marquis.
One of the thirteen candidates of the Great Qin Dynasty!
Marquis Xu of Hengshan!
The night wind was gentle.
A white dress appeared in the streets of Changling, which were covered in gray and black.
The calm-faced Night Ce Leng exited the carriage and stood opposite this mountain-like Marquis.
Her figure was petite and compared to Marquis Xu, she was like a slender white flower.
