Chapter 11: First Lessons from London
Drawing his pistol and threatening the owner of that crashed car not to be many rosos, and then using his own credentials to intimidate for a while those traffic police who came to deal with the accident, 0052, after wasting more than half an hour's worth of saliva, finally got out from the scene of the crash with great difficulty, and drove the BMW, which was nothing more than a layer of paint peeled off from the bumper, and sped all the way to the headquarter.
After twenty-seven security checks, being more than a dozen armed robots with weapons than the chest slowly stepped out of the car, carefully checked the fingerprints of Reinhardt, lip prints, voice, retinal characteristics, the two were finally allowed to enter the headquarters building of the Special Investigation Bureau. Striding into the elevator inside the garage, 0052 compared a middle finger right towards a camera, "Peter, I know you're on duty today, do you think that it's going to be pleasant to be held at gunpoint by a few metal cans?"
A fluttering voice rang out from the elevator, "0052, shut the fuck up, just two blocks away, one of our escort convoys was attacked and nearly wiped out! The old lady was afraid it was a diversion, so she forced us to step up the guard at our headquarters! Can't you see there are 2,000 armed robots out there? Where would you let them out to waste energy on a normal day?"
Reinhardt frowned and asked in a low voice, "Your Bureau of Investigation, do you get attacked often?"
0052 gave a middle finger and didn't say anything. That Peter, on the other hand, sighed deeply, "The great and supreme god, isn't it? The three major public nuisances in the city of London can be the gangsters, the clerics of the Divine Court, and our Bureau of Investigation agents! Thousands of gunfights and bombings every year are related to these three types of people, don't you think? The clerics of the Divine Court are fine, at least the ones attacking them are vampires and werewolves, at the very least vampires won't use bazookas to bombard churches, but the agents of our Bureau of Investigation, ninety percent of the shootings have something to do with us!"
Taking a deep breath, Reinhardt realized that this deep breathing action had become more and more frequent since he came to London.0052 noticed Reinhardt's ugly expression and couldn't help but squeeze out a comforting smile, "It's good to understand, it's good to understand! Legend has it that there were four pests in ancient Chinese society, flies, mosquitoes, rats and sparrows, nowadays, although we are one of the three major public pests in the city of London, at the very least, our status is much more noble than those flies!"
Reinhardt's lips were trembling slightly as he whispered, "Who rated these three major public pests?"
0052 shrugged his shoulders with a mischievous look, "Oh, naturally, it's the one hundred and ninety million citizens of the British Empire, the twenty-five million taxpayers of the City of London, as well as the damned seventy-two thousand media journalists, and the seventy hundred Mr. MPs of the House of Lords and Commons! The reason for this is that we destroy a huge amount of social infrastructure and cause a huge amount of wasted property every year! But, at the very least, our Bureau of Investigation agents are only one of the three major public evils, and you, dear Mr. Reinhardt, you ...... are two of them!"
That Peter laughed madly, and after a good while of heckling, he seemed to see from within the camera that Reinhardt's face was growing harder and harder, and he snapped his mouth wisely shut.

With a 'ding' sound, the elevator stopped on the seventeenth floor in the sky, 0052 pulled Reinhardt out of the elevator door, and casually threw the suitcase carried by his men to a passing heavy man. "Destroy this case completely! Mr. Reinhardt, there's nothing important out there, is there? If there's nothing of public interest, take it out slowly."
Reinhardt looked at 0052 with wide eyes and drank, "Destroy it? What are you saying? There's nothing important in there, but it contains all my changes of clothes! You brought it from the airport just to destroy it? Then it would have been better to just throw it on the road!"
0052 said in a hot voice, "Reinhardt, if I don't want to get sniper rifled the first place I go down the street in my lowly clergyman's clothes, the worst thing I can do is listen to you!" He grinned oddly, "If I go out in the uniform of one of your Bureau of Investigation agents, the least that can be done to me is a miniature submachine gun! If I go out in the vestments of a higher cleric, there may be no one to turn off fire towards me with a self-silencing rifle! But if I'm wearing the vestments of a lower-ranking cleric, as bad as the one I'm wearing, and I'm not from your Bureau of Investigation, then, unfortunately, at least ten sniper rifles are waiting for me!"
Ignoring the jaw-dropping Reinhardt, 0052 pointed at the leather case and ordered, "Destroy it, don't leave anything behind! We can't let those cleric's clothes go to harm! Think about it, an innocent vagabond might be shot at random just because he has a vestment over his body, and that's our sin!"
A sentence that gagged Reinhardt almost went mad, he was so angry that he whispered accusingly, "0052, has London degenerated to such a heavenly level? Can't a cleric of the Holy Family of God walk down a side street in private and in safety? You will protest against such a thing to our top cleric! Outside of where our subordinates are, you demand that we must split up with the Church of England and root out these forces of the White Darkness once and for all!"
Agents coming and going down the corridor gave Reinhardt a look like an idiot, shook their heads, and walked away at a brisk pace. A blonde sighed in a low voice, "What a handsome young man, but unfortunately, his brain is broken! Does he think this is the New New York Divine Court headquarters? This is London, the lair of darkness!"
Reinhardt clearly heard the ugly man's loud self-talk, and he slowed his anger and struck his fist under the elevator's door, punching a hole through that iron door, and whispered orders, "0052, I'll bring you to our Director now! You are to see our Director of Military Intelligence Special Investigations!"
The door to an office at the edge of the corridor suddenly opened, and an old woman with short grayish-white hair, short and lean, who looked to be about in her early sixties, walked out slowly with a cup of coffee in her hand. "Oh, is it Lord Reinhardt, the liaison of the Divine Court? Please come in, please come in, 0052 is an idiot, sometimes he doesn't know how to put things in a euphemistic way. In fact, there are some things that we know to be the truth, but could have been expressed in a different way. Lord Reinhardt, please come in!"
After draining the cup of lightly scented coffee in one gulp, the old woman nodded towards Reinhardt and retreated by walking first herself.
Reinhardt, who had a belly full of anger and was filled with that strong sense of honor and justice of the Divine Court, walked into the old woman's office in a furious manner. The old woman poked her head out again and ordered loudly, "0052, don't run, go and bring all of Reinhardt's documents as well as his gun! Well, his car keys, his dormitory keys, and his communicator and satellite tracker, go to the equipment department and get them. By the way, Reinhardt, what's your favorite pistol to use?" The old woman turned around and asked a bewildered Reinhardt.
"Pistol? You, why would you want a pistol? You don't think it would work any better than your superpowers!"
"But, my dear boy, this is London, if a group of landlubbers attacked you, would you want to use your superpowers in the street? If you did, the enforcers of the Divine Court would prosecute you immediately! Light and darkness, which have struck a wonderful balance in London, are strictly forbidden to display their powers in public! Therefore, you must rely on a pistol to protect yourself, not to fight people with your superpowers! ...... What type of pistol?"
"How do you know what pistol to choose when Ancai is not an expert on proficient weapons?" Reinhardt frowned and contemplated for a bad while before saying, "Then, please give you the least powerful one. If not the classic chemical energy pistol, less bullets; if not an energy beam weapon, less energy boxes please."
The old woman nodded with a look of understanding and growled towards 0052, "Go, bring that K-7 that was just successfully piloted and a thousand rounds of specialized ammunition." The old woman turned around and laughed, "This is a good thing specially designed to deal with berserk orcs, although the caliber is only eleven millimeters, but if hit head-on, it can pierce through a three-inch thick alloy plate! In the entire Special Investigation Bureau, no one is strong enough to use it, but I think that with a recoil of one hundred and seventy kilograms, it shouldn't be a problem for you, who comes from the Divine Court."
A pistol that boasted a hundred and seventy private pounds of recoil? A few more hot sweats appeared under Reinhardt's forehead. The Special Investigation Bureau, really deserves to be the most perverted organization within the entire British Military Intelligence system, deserves to be a weak organization that is incapable of dividing with the Divine Court, such a pistol, they are also able to design and manufacture it! Earthly ah, how many problems need to be solved! To know, five hundred years later, the development of gunpowder weapons has already reached its peak, almost impossible to no longer have any regression.
"Well, sit down, sit down, Reinhardt, lovely boy, we should have a good talk! Sure, you're a noble liaison officer of the Divine Court, but since I'm old enough to be your ****, you should be patient enough to listen to me?" The old woman pushed the door of the room closed and walked behind the wide desk, sitting down in the wide office chair with incomparable comfort.
Nodding silently, Reinhardt sat down under the chair behind the desk. The old woman gave Reinhardt a cursory look, shook her head, and lamented, "In your thirty-seven years with the Special Investigations Bureau, this is the first time you've seen a liaison officer this old and heavy. Rheinhardt, should I not be the elite that the Divine Court has spent a small amount of effort to cultivate, right? Yes then, they wouldn't, and I couldn't sit in this position. May I, as an old woman's advice, be very careful, very careful, or I may not even make it to the end of my term."
Owing slightly, Reinhardt said in a low voice, "So, Mr. Director ......"
"No, no, no, like the rest of your children, call you K! You like this code name, although it is said that its meaning within the intelligence system is not bad, can you like the code name K." A proud smile flowed under the old woman's face, "They say whether you are the weakest and toughest Director of Intelligence, can you like that assessment, and you like your codename ...... call you K!"
"So, K, re a topic, you say you are a tough Director, so why is it that you can tolerate the mess that London is in today?"
K stretched off his hands, heavily tapped a few under the table, narrowed his eyes and laughed, "Well, Reinhardt, hateful child, I can be the one to tell you that since the Divine Court is so weak, since the Divine Court has already mastered the North and South Ugly, Australia, Northern Asia, Europe, 30th of a hundred of the Lunar Colonial Heavens as well as 10th of a hundred of the Mars Colonial Heavens, and the absolute smallest portion of the human race, then why can't they eradicate the human faith? Faith, then why can't they eradicate the White Curtain that shrouds the celestial sphere?"
Tapping his right index finger hard on the table, K said in a deep voice, "Because the forces of darkness are very powerful, so powerful that your Divine Court can only maintain a no-win situation with them. It can even be said that if it wasn't for certain non-human existences sitting in your Divine Court, the entire Divine Court would have been uprooted long ago! The Dark Council, or the Chinese Taoist cultivators, Buddhist cultivators, or cultivators of the Demon Dao, any of their forces can fight against the Divine Court!"
There was no obvious discouragement under K's face, and he said in an almost helpless manner, "Therefore, you can only maintain this situation, which is already no a very good result! You have to know, after the era of small destruction, the entire European parliament, almost all by the blood race and the orcs without those white dark wizards to hold ah! Especially no one hundred and thirty years of time, Britain's prime minister, are not the lower level of the White Dark Parliament ah!"
"Analyze the top secret archives left behind at that time, from the first werewolf prime minister Ove, we in Britain were fortunate to have three great dukes of the blood race, five orc commanders, four elders of the dark wizards, who held the position of prime minister for one hundred and thirty years! And for the most extreme years, ninety-nine and a half percent of the upper and lower houses of England were either Blood vampires, werewolves, bears, panthers, serpents, or just gave their souls to the dark wizards!"
Laughing bitterly, K said in a hot voice, "In the era of the Little Breaking, with the sudden ascension of the Divine Court's earthly envoys, completely cleansed of all religious beliefs except those that were not found in the territory of China, and established the Divine Court, sweeping under the celestial sphere with swiftness for two decades, and with the White Darkness and Light continuing to fight for two decades, the White Darkness power was then transferred to the heavens! Can you tell me very responsibly that the losses of the Divine Court in the Battle of the Breach, no the White Darkness power is less than a thousand times! For the gods we believe in, there were no seventy-nine high-ranking gods who were slaughtered in the war!"
With a 'thud', Reinhardt jumped up furiously and slammed his fist hard on K's table as he roared, "Impossible! God is immortal! No one can offend God's dignity! Maybe those angels will perish, but how can God, the God with the divine throne, be killed times?"
The huge wave of sound caused a dozen pugnacious little men in white dungarees to fly slowly back out of the private office, guns in their hands aimed at Reinhardt's vitals!
K slapped the desk hard and let out a roar even louder than Reinhardt's, "Gentlemen, don't I have my own private space to discuss certain issues with a lovely young man? Now, all of you get the hell out of here! Otherwise, all of your paychecks for this month and the next will be donated to the orphanage!"
Without the slightest hesitation, the agents fled! No one even spared a glance at Reinhardt! This dry old woman was so inviolable in her anger!
After frowning and pondering for a while, K said with a bit of annoyance, ''Sure enough, another die-hard Sky God supremacist, this is really hard to deal with! Dealing with you guys from the Divine Court always gives me a headache! Oh, gods, are all the clerics you teach out paranoid?"
Shaking his head heavily, K looked fiercely at Reinhardt and droned in a commanding tone, "Reinhardt, whether or not I'm a liaison officer of the Divine Court isn't true, can it be that at the very least, I have to respect a nobleman man who is so much younger than me! Did not my carefully selected tutors teach me some of the etiquette of the lowly social household? Can you be a nobleman without a count's title? According to the agreement between the Divine Court and your royal family, I must behave like a gentleman after you!"
Seemingly, under the impression that there was such an odd rule, Reinhardt gasped sharply a few times and sat down on the chair with his back straight. He said loudly, "I am very sorry, noble lady, I was rude just now, but please apologize to me! Your words have blasphemed the dignity of God!"
K gave him a hot look and casually grabbed a document without the golden insignia of the Divine Court underneath from outside the right hand drawer and threw it behind Reinhardt's face. "As the liaison officer between the Divine Court and your Little Britain Empire, I don't have enough authority to go through these absolutely rare materials of the Divine Court! We people of the Divine Court, do we always like to do something to cover our ears! Every time, you have to explain these things to the new liaison officer, every time!"
Glaring back at K, Reinhardt respectfully held up the confidential document and carefully flipped through it. Gradually, Reinhardt's face became more and more ugly, and had turned a dead gray.
K laughed with near pointless gloating, "Two low-level gods, nine middle-level gods, seventy-nine high-level gods, and two hundred and ninety-nine low-level Light Flame Earth Ambassadors were completely obliterated by the White Darkness forces under the vastly larger celestial sphere! Their god frames were devoured, their god power was appropriated, and their souls, moreover, whether or not they were refined into a weapon called 'fabao' by a few demonic leaders in China! Reinhardt, I should be able to judge the falsehood of this document!"
"With your Divine Court's strong style, it doesn't allow any other faiths to exist! But they slaughtered all the religions that believed in other deities, but left behind the Chinese sects of Taoism, Buddhism, demons, sorcerers, ghosts, devils, and other schools of thought... You should understand, it's not that they don't want to eliminate these people, but that the backstage bosses of your Divine Court simply don't have the strength, or, rather, the guts, to exterminate those superhuman beings in China!"
"Obviously, those people in China are inextricably linked to the White Darkness forces, and if they can't be eliminated, naturally the White Darkness forces can't be completely eliminated. But London is not the traditional territory of the white dark forces, a little bit of chaos, a little bit less shooting cases, is not understandable. After all, the virtual power of the Divine Court, slightly appears to be pointless insufficient!"
Lifting his head violently, the secret document in Reinhardt's hand had already turned into ashes in the red flame. His face was covered in bean-sized beads of sweat, and his hair had become wet and was dripping downwards! Reinhardt said hoarsely, "Not strong enough? But God is omnipotent! Without the guts? How can that be, what being could threaten God? The Supreme God, is invincible!"
Shrugging his shoulders, he grabbed the coffee pot under the private desk and poured himself another cup of coffee, K sipped heavily a few times and sighed, "You have served in the Special Investigation Bureau for thirty teenagers, and the position of this director, you have done it for nineteen years, and the lower levels of our God's Court, you have had no less than a few times of contact with them! So, you know less and more about some of the news that we, the upper clergy, absolutely cannot know! In short, no some things no objectively die in, I must admit it!"
Putting his coffee cup on the table, K said leisurely, "So, in London, you must act carefully! Contacts with the church must be made through our top secret lines, and for your safety, it is best that you do not approach a distance of one hundred meters from the church, which is a high incidence area for homicides, and naturally, the targets are all your peers!"
"Use a firearm as a basic weapon of defense, and do not feel free to reveal my identity. If you're busy and have nothing to do, you can arrange an agent brigade for me, and I can take part in some of your daily cases, such as some psychic-type homicides, tricky intelligence cases, minor and light criminal cases, and so on. You know, the power of your Special Investigation Bureau No is very small, no very few messy things waiting for you to deal with, you always have nothing to idle about."
Exhaling fiercely, Reinhardt said unwillingly, "So, then, what exactly is the value of me as a liaison officer?"
K looked at Reinhardt with no point of pity and reassured him, "Of course, I have no very low value in death. You cannot communicate directly with the Divine Court, because those bishops and priests of the Divine Court within the diocese are all more than lowly and proud, and even if they are not your little ministers of information, they will not pay any attention to them. And I, as a liaison officer sent by the Divine Court, its virtual equivalent to the Divine Court's investigator, when you request, I can coordinate your army, intelligence department and the church's line of silence."
K said leisurely, "Don't think there won't be much to keep you busy, in fact the opposite is true, you'll be very busy! You'll have to learn a whole set of means and experience in managing people, and you'll have to coordinate the relationship between the entire Diocese of the British Empire and the local government, the military, and the intelligence system, so as not to allow friction between the two sides. If someone from the dark forces commits any cases, you'll have to deploy clergy with enough manpower to assist us in the case!"
Nodding sharply, Reinhardt smiled bitterly, "Thank you, K. You've begun by clarifying your duties. By the looks of it, your task is not no very heavy and tight, but rather no very light and small."
With a deep, heavy nod, K said gruffly, "It's good that you understand that, I think we'll work well together, sweet boy. If you're lucky enough to make it through these five years, with the abilities and talents you've honed and the experiences you've gone through, you'll be a hundred times better than the batch of losers serving at the Divine Court's headquarters, and you'll go straight to the upper echelons of the Divine Court! ...... May your God truly bless you, you are a very beautiful young man, those dead and dying black-clothed sanctuaries are dead and dying, more people die every day, not more than one of them. But a young man like you, still so young, if you died, I would be sorry for you ...... well, for three minutes."
Thoroughly dumbfounded, for this old woman in charge of the Intelligence Service, the least powerful in England, Reinhardt suddenly realized that he was completely out of her league, and that his own waves of emotions were stilled, all the time being tuned out by her, and led backward by the nose.
Seeing Reinhardt's deadpan face, K suddenly laughed: "Oh, don't be sad, don't feel depressed. 0052 is a very interesting kid, with his company, at the very least, your first few months in London will be very colorful, and you'll see a lot of things that are very different from the Divine Court's training camp. Of course, only if you survive!"
Not wanting to hear any more of K's nagging, and listening to her tone, it seemed as if or not she was betting that she wouldn't die for more than three months! Any bloodthirsty year-old heavy would never want to hear those words. Reinhardt stood up and saluted K before leaving.
K also did not stay him, waved his hand and said: ''Then, you go to the living room outside and wait for 0052 to give you to receive equipment, then, he will take you to your residence, in order to your safety, I arranged for you in a rich area of the luxury villa. The dark forces are very concerned about social morality, they won t even steal the wallets of ordinary people, so as long as you are surrounded by a crowd, your safety is guaranteed ...... because I have heard of an injunction that has been passed down for hundreds of years: all those belonging to the Dark Council are strictly prohibited from harassing the folk. Well, it is said that their ban is still adapted from the oldest military precepts of the Chinese Liberation Army, the Three Disciplines and Eight Points of Attention."
With a mischievous smile on his face, K laughed, "Regardless of whether or not those small leaders of the White Darkness Council are scary good demons, can you at least appreciate them for that? In comparison, the White Darkness Council relies on its own industry to earn funds, while 80% of our Divine Court's funds rely on donations from believers, at this point, the White Darkness Council is much weaker than us!"
Reinhardt was so angry that his eyes almost rolled over, if K wasn't an old lady, if she wasn't a woman, and if she didn't hold the title of nobility in England, Reinhardt believed that he would have punched him out long ago. Regardless of whether or not he might have damaged the relationship between the Divine Court and the British Intelligence system, in any case, today's Reinhardt, would love to teach K a hard lesson, if only, if only, she were a young and robust man!
Pulling the small door of the private office closed fiercely, Reinhardt walked out with no point of breath slowing down.
But behind her, K wobbled and poured herself a cup of coffee, and said very mildly, "By the way, one of the most important tasks of your Divine Court Liaison Officers is compassionate care! Every year, there are probably close to seven thousand clergy in Europe who are killed in accidents, and there are close to four thousand in the British diocese, and your task is to report the monthly casualty situation to the Divine Court, apply for new people to come in, and issue huge pensions to the families of those clergy! ...... A very generous errand, a third class priest at the lowest level can have millions of euros in insurance."
With a 'thud', Reinhardt pulled down the door of the room fiercely, the entire corridor trembled for a moment, frightening those passing agents to jump up one by one, and very few of them almost drew their guns and shot towards Reinhardt.
A few big black strong men standing at the end of the corridor, holding huge firearms in their hands, shook their heads and said in a sympathetic tone, "Well, the twenty-third God's Court Liaison Officer that the old lady has been mad at since she took office! I hope that this little guy, who is a little bit smarter, won't get pissed off and do certain bad things!"
A few bills were covertly passed around in the hands of a few agents who were sitting under the benches outside the corridor, looking like they had something to do. Can vaguely hear a guy smug laughter: "Won again, you said, the court of God out of these low in the lower bishop villain, otherwise absolutely will be angry to blow up the stomach of the ...... then, back on the last game of betting, this liaison officer villain, can die less long? "
"Three days, if the handicap is high enough, I press three thousand euros!"
"Well, look at him look quite handsome, hateful big guy, you press five thousand euros, half a month!"
"No, No, No, you guys have to have faith in him! I don't think the Divine Court would hastily send out a loser, since he came to London so young, he must be someone who possesses very special abilities, I'll press four thousand euros for a month and a half!"
"Hmm, does no one press that he can die for more than a year?"
"Well, I'll bet a flip, fifty euros for a year."
"So, does anyone think that this Reinhardt villain can die for more than five years?"
A few middle fingers were gestured out and placed in front of the agent's nose, and the agents simultaneously cursed in a low voice, "Idiot, do you think we'll give you money for nothing?"
Reinhardt, who was standing at the door of the K office, was as stiff as a stone statue! His ear power is too bad, the conversation of these agents, he heard a clear, his mood, simply whether ugly wonderful to the extreme, false in whether there is no way to describe the ugly wonderful!
