Chapter 16: Supreme Technique
"Past Maitreya Sutra? This ......... is rumored to be one of the Great Zen Temple's three major temple-keeping scriptures, a mysterious, mysterious, supreme art of cultivating the divine soul? The thing that Zi Yue, as one of the eight demonic immortals in the world, also came a long way to look for, would actually be interspersed in this imperial engraved martial arts scripture?"
Hong Yi looked at the scripture volume in his hand that was as thin as a cicada's wing, four-square, dark gold in color, and soft as water when touched in his hand, and looked at the small bright gold characters on it, the shock in his heart was simply beyond words.
Great Zen Temple is a thousand years old temple, running point incense, masters such as clouds, has not been eliminated when the world, no matter what sects have to recognize that this is the world's first temple, cultivation of the highest achievement of the holy land.
And the highest secret of the Great Zen Temple's cultivation is recorded in three volumes of scriptures: the past, the present, and the future. The past is the Maitreya Sutra, the present is the Rudra Sutra, and the future is the Sutra of the Unborn.
The Maitreya Sutra is the supreme art of cultivating the divine soul, the present Rulai Sutra is the way of martial arts and human immortality, and the Lifeless Sutra is the most mysterious and unpredictable, and it is rumored that when the three scrolls are united and enlightened, one will be able to transcend the sea of suffering in this world and truly reach the other shore.
Moreover, even Li Yan, the founder of Li's school, who despised God and Buddha the most among the readers and consistently explained God and Buddha with the great principles of the readers, expressed his regret in his notes for not having seen these three scrolls with his own eyes.
From this point of view, Hong Yi, who was the most skillful in reading books to figure out the author's mind, was good enough to draw a conclusion.
That is: these three volumes of scriptures were indeed solid supreme secrets.
This kind of book could be much more powerful than the crude and loophole-ridden martial arts scriptures and Taoist scriptures, and the difference between jewels and dung was not even enough to describe the difference between the two.
"It could be that when the Great Zen Temple was about to fall apart, the monk was afraid that this scripture would be taken away, so he hid it in one of the most mundane of the martial arts scriptures, and yes, the imperial court's own engraved martial arts scriptures would certainly not be up for grabs. Unfortunately, what Zi Yue is looking for is actually close at hand ....."
Hong Yi grabbed the Maitreya Sutra and took a few deep breaths to calm his mind.
The reasoning of the readers, when you see a color, you will not move your heart, and when you see a treasure, your heart will not be confused.
Hong Yi knew that he had almost lost his guard just now.
See treasures heart not messy, not to treasure disdain, but to warn people get treasures do not get carried away, keep a calm mind, otherwise it will reveal all sorts of cracks, so that the people who have a heart to notice, it is easy to encounter the disaster of killing.
This kind of scripture is soft as if it is satin, but it can't be burned when it meets fire, not to say that it is a person who understands the reasoning like Hong Yi, even if it is an idiot, he also knows that it is a treasure.
"But this Maitreya scripture is rumored to be the highest secret of cultivating the divine soul, but there are so many monks in the Great Zen Temple, among them there is no lack of amazing people, but it seems that none of them have cultivated into the Yang Shen, otherwise, they can't be surrounded by the army and exterminated cleanly. It seems that this volume of scripture, is not so easy to practice enlightenment, I am only rough through the soul out of the shell of the law, I'm afraid that it is still not enlightenment, if Zi Yue in on good, can and he together enlightenment, only a pity ..........."
After Hong Yi calmed his mind, hands and feet neatly folded this volume of satin-like scriptures into a large piece of handkerchief, close to the flesh collection, and not in a hurry to watch.
After the collection, confident that there is no breakage, Hong Yi sat upright, lit an incense burner, and then gently grinding ink, writing the word "quiet" on the paper.
He wrote more than ten "quiet" characters in a row, and his mind was completely quiet.
Hong Yi quiet mind, get up and wash his hands, and then close his eyes and sit silently, until the incense burned, the whole person is stable, open your eyes, eyes scanned around, ears listening, to determine that there is no one around, and then carefully take out the scriptures from the pocket to open the detailed view.
Serious readers have this set of rules, between reading, meditation, incense, hand washing, do a set of preparatory work.
These are not useless rituals, but means of mediating the body and mind so that one can give one's full attention. So that you can read well.
How could Hong Yi not be cautious? Especially when reading this legendary "Maitreya Sutra".
The scripture was taken out from the flesh, and the smooth feeling of silk made Hong Yi very comfortable.
Scripture spread on the table, four square, three feet long and wide, like a large painting, the handwriting on it is very small, fly-head lowercase, but also very clear, such as the knife engraved and printed in general, no blurring.
And the font has a kind of power that goes deep into the bone marrow, so that after reading it, one has a feeling that these small words will move and fly. The words already had spirituality.
"Good calligraphy!"
Seeing the words, Hong Yi couldn't help but scream out in his heart, he was confident that his own writing was not bad anymore, but compared to the words on this scripture, it was simply not up to par.
In the middle of the scripture, was a golden Buddha, sitting in the void, countless suns, moons and stars surrounded it, putting light on this golden Buddha.
This golden Buddha's eyes are slightly closed, kneeling, hands knotted, serene, but not like other temples inside the Buddha's majesty, leaking out is a kind of friendly, familiar atmosphere.
Even, even Hong Yi had a feeling that this Buddha was his own previous life of a thousand origins.
"This is the real Buddha statue, this demeanor, this aura, can resonate with people. It has the intention of becoming a Buddha itself."
Buddha's teachings preached that all beings were equal, and that everyone could become a Buddha.
A true statue of Buddha is not majestic or huge either, but rather, amongst looking at it, it gives one the feeling that this Buddha is one's own past life. Glowing with the Buddha nature of human Taoism.
Unfortunately, the person who can paint such a statue of Buddha, five hundred years can not come out of a single, on the basis of painting alone, are the saints in the painting.
Not to mention whether this volume of the Maitreya Sutra was a supreme authentic sutra, the first time Hong Yi saw it, it was a supreme painting of the Dao.
Hong Yi looked at this Buddha statue, his heart was shocked, he read and dabbled more widely, he also had the ability to appreciate calligraphy and painting, and he knew more about some of the essence of Buddhism.
"Not to mention anything else, it's this word, this painting, sell it, it's priceless." Hong Yi sighed, then began to read the orthography on the scripture.
The article opened with four words, "As I have heard ............."
"As I have heard? This scripture was recorded by personally hearing the Buddha speak?" Hong Yi wondered. It turns out that Buddhist texts that begin with "As I hear it," are all left behind by actually hearing the Buddha's sayings in the ancient times.
These four words were the difference between the lay canonical texts and the authentic scriptures.
According to the reasoning, if it was a dharma practice, this four words would not appear, because the Buddha does not teach the practice of dharma at all, but only tells people to realize their mind and see their nature. It is somewhat similar to the ancient sages who only taught the readers to cultivate righteousness. It's a general direction, and the specifics of how to clarify the mind and how to cultivate righteousness are all to be groped for on one's own. Each has its own achievements and reasoning.
Whether it is Buddha, or the ancient sages, are only pointing a clear path and direction, as for the specific how to walk, I'm afraid that those sages do not know, to rely on the gradual groping of the later.
Whether it's the martial way, or the immortal way of divine soul cultivation, it's all refined by the Great Zen Temple by absorbing the essence of various sects for thousands of years.
"Regardless of him, maybe the author is trying to make the sutra more formal, looking at the specific cultivation methods."
Hong Yi of course would not dwell too much on this issue, but read on ...............
